Meanwhile, the actress’ childhood friend Pinky Reddy has
revealed to Mid-Day that she was not in the best of health while attending
Mohit Marwah’s wedding in Dubai.

According to Reddy, the late actress was down with fever
when she attended her nephew’s wedding. "I spoke to her the day she was
leaving for Dubai. She was down with fever and was on antibiotics. She was
feeling tired, but she said that she has to go for the wedding."
She added, “I have seen her professional rise. (Sridevi’s
death) is shocking. We are devastated."
Sridevi’s close friend also recalls the time she met the
late actress. “She had specially flown down to Hyderabad for two hours to
attend my daughter's baby shower. Can you imagine that? That was the last time
I saw her.”

Pinky is deeply hurt that social media users are
constantly referring to Sridevi’s cosmetic surgeries. “It hurts me that people
are making her death into such a joke. People are saying that she underwent
liposuction and took fat burners. Why can't people remember the good things
about her instead of talking about all this? After she has gone, how can they
even utter such mean and vile things?”
The ladies were friends from the tender age of 8. In
fact, Pinky’s father was also one of the producers for Sridevi’s hugely popular
film Chandni.
Sridevi died by drowning in the bathtub of the hotel she
was staying in Dubai, the final postmortem report stated. The actress was flown
to Mumbai on Tuesday after a delay of three days during which her
husband Boney Kapoor recorded his statement with the Dubai Police. Mr Kapoor
found Sridevi in an unconscious state in the bathtub of her hotel room. After
the doctors failed to revive her, she was declared dead.
Meanwhile, a bevy of Bollywood celebs such as Rekha, Waheeda Rehman, Rajinikanth,
Kamal Haasan, Shah Rukh Khan, Salman Khan, Gauri Khan, Deepika Padukone,
Ranveer Singh, Karan Johar, Manish Malhotra, Tabu, Rani Mukerji, Shabana Azmi,
Javed Akhtar and Karisma Kapoor among others visited Anil Kapoor’s residence
(in the past three days) to extend their heartfelt condolences to the bereaved
family.
Sridevi’s mortal remains were brought back to Mumbai at 9:40 pm last
night. Earlier yesterday, Arjun Kapoor had flown out to Dubai to be by Boney’s side in
the time of crisis. The actress’ case stands closed by Dubai authorities and
the final medical report states cause of death as ‘accidental drowning’.
